Food Chaining for Dieting Success

Food chaining for dieting success is simple. All you do is arrange your food selections so that you have no excuse for eating junk food, and eat healthy foods frequently, whether you are at home or on the road. Below is a sample of food chaining suggestions to keep your diet on track.

    1. Always carry two fruits such as an apple or orange in you bag or purse. Eat these fruits between meals or when you feel your energy level drop. Replenish your supply daily.

    2. Always carry a liter of filtered water in your bag or purse. Proper hydration helps keep your thinking clear and energy level up. Refill your water bottle daily.

    3. Carry a small box of raisins, or another dried fruit, in your purse. You can enjoy this dried fruit when you crave a sweet taste. This way you can avoid donuts or candy and eat your sweet fruits instead.

    4. Keep a bag of nuts or seeds such as almond, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds in your purse. These may be slightly salted. When you crave chips, or some other salty junk food, go for the nuts minerals, and the salts your body is probably craving to balance your electrolytes.

    5. Plan at least one of your daily meals in advance. This can be breakfast, lunch or dinner. By planning ahead, you are ensuring that you will have at least one nutritious meal during the day.
