Celebration Crisis Part II

If we don’t congratulate and celebrate ourselves, we must look elsewhere for validation.
Susan Schenkel, Giving Away Success

If you diet just to lose weight, stop. A true diet uncovers your optimal daily caloric intake, ideal macronutrient composition and needed daily aerobic activity to maintain your preferred body weight and body mass index. A diet, therefore, guides your daily actions to maintain your preferred appearance.

Women typically celebrate a diet after they lose the weight. They abandon the diet and eat whatever the hell they want, thinking the diet part is over and now they can return to doing and eating what they did before, and still maintain the results garnered through the diet. This defines insanity.

Instead of celebrating weight loss, a woman delighting in an informative diet must celebrate what she has learned about herself. She can celebrate not needing to resort to fad diets anymore, having discovered how her unique body operates and what it demands for optimal performance.
