Appendix F: Homemade Acne Peels

Oatmeal Peel

To create the mask or peel, just make a bowl of oatmeal according to the container’s instructions. Then let the oatmeal cool in a bowl. Once cooled, place the oatmeal over the entire face. Then cover the face with a clean damp washcloth for 15 minutes (make sure your nose is free for easy breathing). Finally, rinse the mask off.

Papaya or Pumpkin Peel

Just puree a fresh papaya or a half-cup of a fresh pumpkin. Spread the mixture onto your face. Live it for 15-20 minutes then rinse it off.

Lactic Acid (Milk) Peel

Combine a half-cup of milk powder (dry milk mixture) with about quarter-cup of water. Add the water slowly because you want to create a pasty mixture, not one that’s liquid. Apply the past onto you clean face for 15-20 minutes or until dry and then rinse it off.

Salicylic Acid Wash Peel

If you have a facial wash that contains salicylic acid or glycolic acid, you can also use it as a peel. Mix the cleanser with enough water to smear a light film of the cleanser all over the face. Leave the cleanser for 15-20 minutes then rinse it off.
