Before spot treating a pimple, make certain that it has been cleaned
according to your normal skin care regimen.
White pus filled pimples on the surface of the face
These types of pimples are typically an indication of surplus oil at the
area of infection. Apply benzoly peroxide or clay mask to the area at
night and wash off in the morning to help dry out the pimple.
Inflamed pimples, beneath the surface of the skin and painful (also
pre-menstrual type acne)
Since the area of infection in this case is deep within the skin, it is
important to use solution that is capable of seeping down into the skin.
Tea tree oil is excellent for this purpose. To treat the area, dilute the
tea tree oil in a carrier oil, such as jobaba oil, in a 1:2 ratio (tea tree:
carrier oil). Then apply the oil mixture to the pimple and cover the
immediate area surrounding the pimple as well.
You can also treat deep pimples with ice. For 5-10 seconds, rub the
area with ice to help reduce inflammation. Avoid over-icing the skin;
doing so could rupture blood vessels.
Blackheads
One of the best treatments for blackheads is to open the pores so that
the melanin (the pigment that gives the pore its black color) trapped
inside of the pore can be released. Make certain to wash the face with
a cleanser containing salicylic acid to help penetrate the oil in the
pores and remove dead cells.
Alternately, you can use a paste of
baking powder and water to help loosen the clogged pores. Then,
steam the face for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, apply a clay mask over
the affected area. Let the mask dry and wipe the mask away with a
wet, warm cloth.
