Facial Peel/Toner Recipe to Correct Skin Discolorations & Acne Spots (Sensitive Skin)
Preparation
1. Turn to a clean page in your lab notebook and write today’s date in the
upper right hand corner.
2. Write down, or copy and paste, the above peel formula chart into your lab
notebook.
3. Gather your skin care utensils including the scale and a 4-ounce bottle for
storing your finished product.
Blending
4. In the 4-ounce bottle, blend the ethanol together with the malic, lactic and
ascorbic acids. Place the lid on the bottle and then shake it vigorously for
60 seconds.
5. In a small bowl, pour in the polysorbate 20, and slowly add the essential
lemongrass and ylang ylang oils. Stir these items together with a spoon for
30 seconds.
6. Add mixed oils in the small bowl to the mixture of acids and ethanol in the
bottle.
7. Now pour in the witch hazel, chamomile hydrosol and parabens to the bottle.
8. Tighten the lid on the bottle and shake it vigorously for 60 seconds.
Storage
9. Store the peel in a cool area, away from direct sunlight.
10. Note: If you did not use preservatives in the mask or used only mild
preservatives, store your mask in the refrigerator to prevent microbial
growth.
