How to Calculate the Amount of Microdermabrasion Product Produced

Calculate the Amount of Microdermabrasion Product Produced

    1. Decide which ingredients you will use in the microdermabrasion product

    2. Decide what percentage of the finished product’s weight each ingredient
    will comprise.

      Example:

      • Abrasive agent = 20%
      • Acidic agent = 2%
      • Traction base = 78%

    (See charts for more examples)

    3. Decide how much product you want to create (in the charts I use 4-
ounces (120 grams) which is enough microdermabrasion product to give
one person a daily microdermabrasion treatment for at least two weeks ).

    4. Now multiply the percentage weight of each product by the total amount of
product that you want to create to calculate how much of each ingredient
you need to add to the microdermabrasion product. Example:
    4-ounce (120 gram product )

Ingredient Percentage of total product weight Multiplied by total product weight ounces (grams) Equals amount of each ingredient needed
Abrasive agent 0.20 4 (120) 0.80 (24.0)
Acidic agent 0.02 4 (120) 0.08 (2.4)
Traction base 0.78 4 (120) 3.12 (93.6)
Total 1.00 4 (120) 4.00 (120.0)
