Determine Your Natural Eyebrow Shape

Real beauty looks natural. Since your eyebrows crucial to your looks, you want them as natural looking as possible. Your eyebrow shape impacts everything from the look of your eyes to how people perceive your mood. Get your bros right by following these four steps to determine your natural eyebrow arch. All you need is a pen and eyeliner or brow pen. Once you have your brow line, look at the chart below to determine if your eyebrows are:

1. Round
2. Soft Angled
3. High Angle Arched
4. Curved or
5. Straight

Outline Your Natural Eyebrow Line

Step 1: Start Eyebrow

Step 1:

Eyebrow

Starting Point

Place the pen against your right nostril and connect it to the inside corner of your right eye.

Where the pen crosses your eyebrow is where you start your brow line.

Mark this point with the eyeliner.

Step 2: End Eyebrow

Step 2:
End Eyebrow

Place the pen against your right nostril.

Rotate the pen to so that it passes over the outer corner of your right eye.

This is where your eyebrow should end. Make it with your eyeliner.

Step 3: Locate Arch

Step 3:
Locate Arch

Note: If your eyebrows are straight, you will not have a noticeable arch.

Place the pen gently against your right nostril and rotate it to where your eyebrow begins a downward turn toward the outer corner of your eye.

Optional: Feel your eyeball sockets (the boney part) and locate the area where the bone starts curving downward. The section of your eyebrow just above this point is generally where your natural arch falls. Mark it with the eyeliner

Some beauty experts suggest placing the pin over your iris to find your arch or simply finding the point in the middle of your eyebrow. This method does not work well for all eyebrows which is why I suggest following the natural arch of your eyeball sockets.

Step 4: Eyebrow Symmetry

Step 4:
Ensure Eyebrow Symmetry

Connect the dots on your eyebrow, the starting point, arch and end. This gives you the general shape of your eyebrow.

Now ensure that your left eyebrow matches your right eyebrow in shape. That is, make sure that the start point, arch and end point are in roughly the same location on your right and left eyebrows. Uneven eyebrows will take away from your good looks.
